Global solution provider for colour PDF Print E-mail
Written by PerfectProof

Getting a system for making accurate, reliable proofs or photographic prints takes more than simply buying the newest printer available. You need flexible and easy-to-use software, consumables and inks that are adapted specifically to the type of work you do, plus the knowledge and experience to install and make it all work together.

Founded in 1996 by John Weissberg and Mark Verbist, formerly at Scitex and Kodak, PerfectProof has rapidly become the worldwide specialist in digital proofing and printing. Initially focused on prepress consumables, PerfectProof has expanded over the years, continuously developing new lines of professional-grade software and consumables for a range of uses. Today, PerfectProof offers a complete range of products for digital proofing, high-end photo and large format printing, and e-commerce solutions for graphic professionals.

ProofMaster software

In 2001, PerfectProof seized a gap in the market thanks to the launch of ProofMaster, the first proofing software for Mac and PC to offer professional levels of colour accuracy combined with real ease of use and supported by all the leading digital printers including Epson, Canon, HP, Agfa Sherpa, Iris and Digital Cromalin.

With over 4,500 installations, the award-winning ProofMaster software forms one of the most complete packages available in the industry today, offering both ConTone/1-bit proofing and photo printing, a wide variety of file formats (PDF, PostScript and native file formats), a host of production tools, soft-proofing and workflow automation.

At IPEX 2006, PerfectProof will unveil the ProofMaster v3 software solution suite, set to target a number of new user groups by adding a host of new functionalities all based around the same powerful colour management engine. Next to enhanced proofing for offset, gravure, flexo and newspaper production, the software now also offers film production for screen printers and wide format printing and cutting capability. For the first time all these applications will be possible from one and the same software package!

Quality consumables

PerfectProof offers a complete range of quality ink jet media for a variety of applications:
  • Proofing, including papers for Fogra- or GATF-certified contract-proofs;
  • Photo and fine art, photographic papers and canvas;
  • Display and banner, large format production.

Next to this, the company also remains one of the largest suppliers of papers and inks for Iris printers in the world.

E-commerce solutions

End of 2005, PerfectProof added an Internet storefront to its product portfolio. Printer’s website provides a complete e-commerce platform with price quotation, ordering and online payment capabilities to printing and copying businesses who so far have not been able to tap into the power of the Internet. The system hosted by PerfectProof allows a fully customised website to be set up in a matter of days. Apart from attracting new online customers, the site will automate a lot of the repetitive jobs, freeing up valuable time for the printer to focus on what’s really important for their business.

Technology partnerships

To better serve its customers, PerfectProof has set up partnerships with companies offering complementary products or services. Since 2004, its Benelux sales office has become the biggest distributor for Epson large format printers. It may come as no surprise that Epson printers are used in up to 80 per cent of proofing installations. X-Rite became a worldwide partner in 2005, allowing PerfectProof to bundle its colour measurement devices. Early 2006, the company forged a technological alliance with Enfocus, linking the concept of the certified PDF with that of the certified proof.
