This product group is used widely in the food industry and retail trade, e.g. for sandwiches, burgers, snacks, salads, bakery, confectionery, and convenience products. The most typical materials used here are PS, PP, APET and OPS. The latter is not made at Færch Plast, and other production and hygiene conditions apply. Packaging for Cold Food and Snacks in PSPS- has a good impact strength and a high resistance to fat. PS can also be used for frozen products. Packaging for Cold Food and Snacks in PP PP- is produced in two varieties. Ho-PP is transparent and more rigid than Co-PP, which unlike Ho-PP is contact-clear, and has a softer and more flexible structure. The two types of material are used at different temperatures. Co-PP can be used below freezing point whereas Ho-PP is suitable for use to a minimum temperature of +20 C. Both materials are suitable for heating food in microwave ovens. Packaging for Cold Food and Snacks in APET APET is a glass clarity material, but is also avaible in a range of colurs. It is especially suitable for food products where maximum exposure of the product is desired. APET is a tough material with a good impact strength. Færch Plast has a large range of disposable packaging, typically made from PS and PP. These products are not made at Færch Plast, and other production, sales and hygiene conditions apply.
